If a cocktail of hot pink, fluro yellow, roller skates, lycra and lame reminds you of a childhood in the ’80s then it may be time to reconsider that association; because said mix just grew up. Photographing a roller girl fantasy in Los Angeles (where else?) is Ben Watts, taking the role of nudity in fashion to places rarely seen. Rarely seen because the shoot trades nudity-as-sexual for nudity-as-fun. Rarely seen because the models look to be having such a rollicking good time. Rarely seen because, far from the sensual lace stockings and heels, it’s nudity accessorized only by bright plastic-framed sunglasses and neon striped socks. It’s in that freshness, that unique approach, that we’re reminded of why we consider Treats! magazine – in which this shoot appears – to be ‘new media’. And it’s in that feeling of freshness and fun that the shoot’s sexiness lies.
With a two-part interview with Watts, and a third video that focuses on styling (though is more of a fun romp than anything else) it’s some NSFW weekend watching that’s both informative and visually grabbing. You can view all three after the jump.
