Both time-lapse and stop-motion videos are the type of photography that I’m more curious about lately. To me, stop-motion videos seem a lot harder to make compared to time-lapse videos. For time-lapse, you can just set your camera on auto-pilot, walk away, come back, and have the photos (yes, I do realize that setting up the gear and picking a location are sometimes not as easy); with stop-motion, you pretty much have to set up the shot for every single photo taken. Check out this amazing stop-motion animation below, named “The Joy of Books”, where the books in a small bookshop come alive at night. The animation is done by creative art director Sean Ohlenkamp and quite a large number of volunteer book wranglers. It was shot after hours at Type Books in Toronto.
