This is a very nice behind-the-scenes video of Atton Conrad’s Hennessy advertising campaign called “Liquid Light”. I like the Hennessy campaign in its own right, but it’s interesting as well because it’s built on his earlier editorial work with light trails. The process itself is more authentic than it would appear at first glance. Built from real exposures rather than the ‘draw it in after in photoshop’ approach that you could take. The idea of painting with light like this is so simple in principle, but to do it well is very difficult. The whole exercise is a testament to the importance of experimentation and the accessibility of photography. Best still there is nothing in the shoot that is out of the reach of anyone with a camera.
