Each year, our company throws a Christmas party for us to get together and have some fun. This year’s location is on a boat, with buffet and an open bar. Yes, open bar. I’m not really a big fan of drinking, so that makes no difference for me; although, the food was really good, and I really enjoyed it. I can’t tell you exactly the names of the dishes, but there were salad, potatoes, mac and cheese, fish, steak, and some sort of a vegetarian chimichanga with sauce on top. To be honest, I really wanted to go for a second round, but it didn’t look like that was an option, since they only gave us one set of utensil. I mean, who goes to a buffet and only has 1 round? I was sad.
This was my first opportunity to field-test my new toy, the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII. It was an indoor event, with low light, and I wasn’t able to move around freely. I must say, the lens’ performance is remarkable. I was able to have good/usable shots at 200mm and 1/60s. That’s just almost too good to be true. I can’t even get the same results with my nifty fifty, and it’s f/1.8.
Here are some pictures of the event. These people had no idea I shot them 🙂
