I have been holding on to these engagement pictures for as long as I can remember. My brother, Tran, popped the question to his then girlfriend, Rita, more than a year and a half ago, and I’ve since flown to New York twice to take their photos, but since the couple didn’t want to make the announcement at the time yet, we decided that we’d keep the photos in the DL for some time. I’ve finally gotten his permission to post these pictures, now that they’re getting married in 2 weeks. I really like that there won’t be a full-blown wedding event. The two decided that they’d go to city hall to get their license, and then head down to SoHo in the afternoon for a cocktail party. My kinda party. Oh, there will be a video for their “wedding” day, so be on the lookout for something intersting!
Tran and Rita have been together for quite some time now, and they have been excellent tour guide as well as hosts every time I flew to New York for vacation. I’ve found that I’ve clicked quite well with Rita, since we practically live to eat, not eat to live. My brother Tran is one of the most meticulous persons I know, so he always makes sure we get good food around the city for good price. Oh how meticulous is he? You should (or not) see the agenda for his upcoming bachelor party. I’m not sure if I’m supposed to be saying this, but it’s a 2-sheet Excel on Google Docs That. We. Must. Follow!
I’m very excited to attend their special day, now that I’m moving to New York in less than 2 weeks. Yes, you read that right. No, I’m not kidding. My plan is I’m just going to pick up and leave. With Tran and Rita being my go-to people in case I need a good place to eat, I think I’ll be okay ![]()
