In case you’ve missed it, I went to the shows of Sacramento Fashion Week 2011 a few days ago. The shows have given me a great opportunity to meet with all the excellent photographers from Sacramento and Northern California areas. On the first night, I must admit that the lighting wasn’t perfect. There were quite a few spots on the runway that were dark, and others that were so bright they made the models’ faces all washed out. I was somewhat disappointed and skeptical about showing up for the second night. Fortunately, I decided to make a short appearance for the Finale Showcase night; as it turned out, the lighting was much better in terms of evenness and brightness. I’m glad they worked out all the kinks that occurred the night before. Kudos to all the hard work that was put into making the show go smoothly.
The show was started off with an exceptional performance by Ana Maria Perales, A.M.P.E.D Entertainment. She really brought to the event a unique atmosphere with her choreography. I managed to get a few action shots of hers.
This year, the The Finale Designer Showcase featured Sacramento’s 7 of the seasoned designers, including Ceazar Cabreros, Eshonna Trice, Love by Janelle Cardenas, Linzel Couture, Melissa Kay, Nelly Salogub and Tiana Vega. Below are a few shots from their collection.
